24K Solid Gold Artisan Hoop Earrings With Strong 18 Gauge Ear Wires.

What a terrific special present these hoops would make for any fan of pure 24K gold! (Maybe even as a treasured gift to yourself? :) )

These pure 24K gold hoops are much heavier and wider than my Mini Hoop place holding earrings that are just a slim wire of gold. I have had many folks asking about bigger thicker 24K hoops so here is one possibility.

They weigh approximately 3.4 to 3.5 grams with the heavier wires.

These hoops are designed to leave in your ears with no allergic reactions. Wear them forever.

Super simple design that you squeeze gently shut after putting into your lobes....and then forget them. As long as you make sure the wire is snugly inside the back end of the earring body channel, they should be very secure.

I make these hoops with a heavier thicker 18 gauge ear wire instead of the normal 20 gauge I use. 18 gauge should hold up better to repeated putting on and off. Be forewarned though that some people's ears are not comfortable with thicker ear wires. It all depends on your individual ears and piercing!

If in some emergency where the earring was pulled sharply or badly caught in something, (I think of grabbing toddlers) it should just bend the ear wire and release out of your ear lobe without tearing. 24K gold is forgiving and can be formed back into shape relatively easily.

These earrings are about the same diameter as a penny. Should be great for leaving in long term, and comfortable to sleep in.

( I will add a note here that these are as heavy and as large an earring as my relatively small ears can handle. These are probably not the best choice for those of us who like teeny, tiny, light weight earrings. :)

A word about this design. These are hoops meant to leave in long term. Great for sensitive ears.

I recommend a different earring for people who change their earrings often. These hoops rely on moving/angling the ear wires open and closed and they are a bit frustrating to get in and out too often. Although the ear wires are heavy 18 ga. they will bend with repeated stress. Please see my Hoop Post Earrings as an alternative concept if you want to change earrings daily or often.
